BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 13. Investment in fixed capital amounted to 11.2 billion manat ($6.5 billion) from January through August 2024, which is 1.7 percent more than the figure for the corresponding period of 2023.

Data obtained by Trend from the country's Statistical Committee indicates that the volume of investments in the oil and gas sector decreased by 2.4 percent, while in non-oil sectors it increased by 3.9 percent.

Meanwhile, 49.8 percent of investments in fixed capital (over 5.5 billion manat ($3.2 billion)) went to the sphere of production, 38.2 percent (4.2 billion manat ($2.4 billion)) to the sphere of services, and 12 percent (1.3 billion manat ($764 million)) to the construction of residential houses. About 83.1 percent of investments (over 9.3 billion manat ($5.4 billion)) directed to fixed capital were domestic funds.

More than 8.09 billion manat ($4.7 billion) or 72.1 percent of funds directed to fixed capital were spent on construction and installation works in the mentioned period.

To note, the investments in fixed capital amounted to 20.2 billion manat ($11.8 billion) in 2023, which is by 9.8 percent more than the figure for 2022.
