BAKU, Azerbaijan, January 31. The construction gypsum production in Azerbaijan took a leap in 2024.
The data obtained by Trend from the State Statistical Committee shows that this figure amounted to 103,000 tons, up 18,000 tons (21.2 percent) compared to 2023 (85,000 tons).
As of January this year, the inventory of finished products totaled 1,700 tons.
To note, Azerbaijan saw a whopping 1.4 billion manat ($823 million) worth of construction materials roll off the production line in 2024, representing a healthy 16.9 percent bump compared to the previous year.
In the meantime, the production of bricks and other cement and concrete products shot up by a whopping 40.7 percent, while prefabricated concrete building structures also climbed the ladder by 40.7 percent. Cement clinker saw a rise of 15.8 percent, concrete itself increased by 12.1 percent, and asphalt made its mark with a 15.4 percent boost.
