ASTANA, Kazakhstan, April 16. During a working trip to the Mangystau region, Chairman of the Management Board of JSC NC "KazMunayGas" (KMG), Askhat Khassenov, visited the Kalamkas oil field operated by JSC "Mangistaumunaigas" (MMG), where he inspected a gas compressor station designed for the complete utilization of excess associated petroleum gas, Trend reports.
In the course of the visit, Khsasenov also inspected a natural gas treatment unit with a capacity of 2 million m³ per day, as well as a gas turbine power plant that supplies electricity to oil production facilities.
“In the Kalamkas rotational village, he reviewed the condition of social facilities. One of the two dormitories underwent major renovations last year, while work continues on the other,” reads a statement from KazMunayGas.
The company’s press service also noted that under the Mangistaumunaigas Roadmap, there are plans to construct a modern cultural and leisure center with 300 seats, a dormitory, a cafeteria, and other socially significant facilities at the Kalamkas field. At another field, Zhetybay, project and cost estimate documentation is being developed for the construction of a rotational village for 550 people.
Following the meeting, the head of KMG issued a number of
instructions related to improving working conditions for employees,
optimizing costs, timely implementation of geological and technical
activities, commissioning of new wells, and increasing the time
between repairs.
As of the first quarter of 2025, the company has produced more than
1.506 million tons of oil. Last year, oil production reached 6.17
million tons, which is 18,900 tons more than in 2023. The company
has been tasked with maintaining similar production levels this
year.
JSC "Mangistaumunaigas" is developing two major fields (Kalamkas and Zhetybai) and 13 satellite fields in the Mangystau region.
