ASTANA, Kazakhstan, April 24. Kazakhstan is considering the conclusion of a contract with the French engineering company Alstom to acquire 205 six-axle electric locomotives of the KZ6A series for "KTZ-Cargo Transportation", with delivery scheduled between 2029 and 2036, Trend reports.
According to information, it was announced at a working meeting related to the renewal of the locomotive fleet, with the participation of Alstom.
The manufacturer of the electric locomotives will be "Electric Locomotive Building Plant", one of Kazakhstan's leading enterprises in the production of traction rolling stock.
In the course of the meeting, participants discussed prospects for further cooperation and plans for the renewal of Kazakhstan's traction rolling stock, which plays a key role in the country's economy.
Moreover, key conditions for concluding a long-term contract were discussed, including the development of comfortable and mutually beneficial terms that will be reflected in the contractual relationship between the parties.
