BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 1. Azerbaijan consumed 2.4 billion cubic meters of natural gas from January through June 2025.
The data obtained by Trend from the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) shows that this figure grew by 137 million cubic meters, or six percent, compared to the same period last year (2.28 billion cubic meters).
To note, during the reporting period, two billion cubic meters of gas were produced from fields operated by SOCAR independently or as a major shareholder. Natural gas production per the company increased by 8.5 percent compared to the same period last year. Gas production in the country rose by approximately 1.4 percent compared to the same period in 2024 and amounted to 12.7 billion cubic meters.
