ASTANA, Kazakhstan, June 21. The official opening of the republican industrial zone "AQMOLA" took place in the Akmola region of Kazakhstan, Trend reports via the local administration of Akmola region of Kazakhstan.
According to available information, the area of the new industrial zone is nearly 1,000 hectares and is fully equipped with the necessary engineering infrastructure to support the construction of modern production facilities.
"To date, the implementation of seven major projects has already begun, with a total investment volume exceeding 1.1 trillion tenge (approximately $2.09 billion). The countries investing in these projects include China, Türkiye, Singapore, and Kazakhstan. It is forecasted that more than 4,500 new jobs will be created in the region as a result of these projects," stated the press service of the regional administration.
"The newly established republican industrial zone is expected to host production facilities of leading companies from Kazakhstan and abroad. This will create a powerful multiplier effect for the agro-industrial complex, logistics, and processing industries, providing a strong boost to the region’s economic growth," said Marat Akhmetzhanov, Akim (Governor) of the Akmola region.
Meanwhile, Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Aidarbek Saparov, also emphasized the national importance of the project.
"This year alone, around 180 industrial projects are being implemented across Kazakhstan. One of the key ones is the AQMOLA industrial zone. Its strategic location near Astana makes it especially attractive to investors," he said.
Among the notable investment projects is a deep wheat processing facility by the Chinese company Dalian Hesheng Holdings, with a total investment of 900 billion tenge (approximately $1.71 billion). The first phase is scheduled to launch in 2025. The facility will produce monosodium glutamate (MSG), gluten powder, and other high value-added products.
In addition to the republican AQMOLA zone, the region is also home to regional industrial zones in Kokshetau and the Tselinograd District, further strengthening the industrial potential of the Akmola Region of Kazakhstan.
