Production Association "Azeriqaz" of SOCAR (State Oil Company of Azerbaijan) is to complete creation of a database of gas transmission infrastructure of Baku and Absheron peninsula in coming months, SOCAR informed Trend on Friday
Works on adding data on Garadag district of Baku to database are being undertaken.
"Little work is left to be done and the entire process of creating a database is to be completed within two or three months," - the source stated.
In particular, the database will contain data on trunk pipelines running from Sangachal terminal accepting gas from gas condensate field "Shah Deniz" as well as associated gas from the block of oil and gas fields "Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli".
The source also mentioned that upon completion of the formation of database it is to be updated with new and more recent data.
The new database will initially cover Baku and Absheron peninsula, but in the future is it planned to increase the coverage across the whole of the republic.
The database will provide information on gas pipelines, stations and valves, thus, contributing to a more rapid response to various kinds of problems, accidents and leaks.
"Azeriqaz" deals with transportation and distribution of gas in Azerbaijan.
