Kazakhstan has imported over 280,000 metric tons of gasoline from China as part of the tolling operations since early 2014, Kazakh First Deputy Energy Minister Uzakbai Karabalin said.
"Some needs of the domestic market were covered by the supplies from China as part of the tolling operations," Karabalin said at a briefing in the Central Communication Service Oct. 21. So, light oil products were imported in the amount of 285,000 metric tons for the nine months."
He recalled that gasoline supplies from Russia have begun declining since summer 2014 due to a number of circumstances.
The measures were taken to stabilize the situation on the domestic market.
"The measures are taken and will be taken to supply the petroleum products to more countries, to prolong the tax benefits as part of tolling operations, to create AI-92 gasoline stabilization reserve, to promote the use of transport with a hybrid engine and to use gas motor fuel," Karabalin said.
