In the first seven months (from March 21 to Oct. 22, 2019) of the current Iranian year, 8.6 million megawatt hours of electricity was generated in Iran's Gilan province, located in the country's north, Executive Director of Gilan Regional Electric Company Azim Bulbulabadi said, Trend reports via the information portal of Iranian Energy Ministry.
The mentioned amount of electricity was generated by 10 power plants located in the province, Bulbulabadi said.
Some 4.5 million megawatt hours of this amount was consumed within Gilan province, the executive director said, adding that the remaining 4.1 million megawatt hours were transmitted to the grids of neighboring provinces.
