The gas pipelines No. 6 and No.9 and 5 gas transportation stations were put into operation in Iran today on August 24, Iranian Oil Minister Bijan Zanganeh said at the event dedicated to the abovementioned events via videoconference in Tehran city, Trend reports citing IRINN.
According to Zanganeh, a total of about 3.1 billion euros was spent on the construction of these stations and the pipeline.
The minister added that the length of these gas pipelines is 1,850 kilometers.
The minister emphasized that for the first time in Iran, the private sector has invested 1.4 billion euros in the construction of gas pipelines and related stations on gas transportation.
Zanganeh noted that Iran's gas exports to Iraq will increase with the commissioning of these stations and the pipelines.
"Thus, Iran's gas exports to Turkey and to Iraq will increase to 80 million cubic meters per day," he said.
Iran exported 17.5 billion cubic meters of gas in the last Iranian year (from March 21, 2019 to March 20, 2020). Iran's gas exports increased by about 3.6 billion cubic meters compared to the preceding Iranian year (from March 21, 2018 to March 21, 2019).
