A small solar photovoltaic station with a capacity of 40 kilowatts has been put into operation in the Yukori Chirchiq district of the Tashkent region of Uzbekistan, Trend reports referring to the press service of the Ministry of Energy of Uzbekistan.
It is reported that this project is another step of the Energy Ministry on accelerated measures to improve the energy efficiency of economic and social sectors, the introduction of energy-saving technologies and the development of renewable energy sources in Uzbekistan.
According to the information, the project is being implemented by the Ministry of Energy and National Power Grids of Uzbekistan JSC with grant support from the Korea Energy Agency (KEA).
The small photovoltaic power station will be located on the territory of the Nurli Zamin settlement.
The ministry noted that the power station will produce about 100,000 kilowatt-hour of electricity per year.
Earlier it was reported that two large solar photovoltaic stations with a capacity of 100 megawatts each will be commissioned in 2021.
