The Bandar Abbas Thermal Power Plant in the Hormozgan Province (southern Iran) generated over 4 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity, during the first eight months of the current Iranian year (from March 21 through November 21, 2021), an official of Thermal Power Plant Holding Company’s branch in Hormozgan Province Mohammad Aqel Ameri said, Trend reports citing Iranian Energy Ministry.
According to the official, of this volume, 3.87 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity were generated by steam units and about 148 million kilowatt-hours by gas units.
“Iran's Bandar Abbas Thermal Power Plant is the largest power plant in southern Iran with 4 steam and 2 gas units and plays a key role in supplying electricity to the Hormozgan Province,” Ameri said.
As reported, the Bandar Abbas TPP is one of the main thermal power plants in Iran. The power generation potential of this power plant is 1,330 megawatts. The power plant has 4 steam units, with each unit's generation capacity of 320-megawatt-hours, and 2 gas units, with a generation capacity of 25 megawatt-hours each.
