BAKU, Azerbaijan, January 18. The State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR), in accordance with its obligations to Pakistan LNG Limited (PLL), will deliver this year's first batch of liquefied natural gas (LNG) to Pakistan in February, an informed source in SOCAR told Trend.

The ship's cargo of 65,000 tons of LNG was confirmed on January 17, and it will arrive at Pakistan's port in February.

SOCAR and PLL signed a framework agreement for LNG supplies in July 2023, marking a key step forward in the two countries' bilateral energy cooperation.

The framework agreement states that SOCAR may offer PLL one shipload of LNG each month, with PLL's acceptance contingent on LNG demand in Pakistan and the Pakistani company's commercial considerations. This provides a consistent supply of LNG to fulfill Pakistan's increasing energy demands.

The agreement is valid for one year, with the possibility of further extensions. SOCAR offers competitive prices for LNG supplied to Pakistan.
