North-South ITC, Middle Corridor, TRACECA growth hits confab agenda in Kazakhstan's Astana

BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 8. The advancement of freight transportation via the international transport corridors (ITC) “North-South,” “Middle Corridor” (TITR), and TRACECA will be the primary focus of the three-day international transport and logistics conference “TransLogistica Kazakhstan,” commencing on October 9 in Astana, Trend reports.

A concurrent session on October 9, titled "Practice and Prospects of Transportation of Oversized and Heavy Cargoes along the Corridors of TITR, TRACECA, and 'North-South'," will feature the participation of leaders from the Caspian ports of Aktau and Baku (the international port in Hovsan), as well as experts from Kazakh, Chinese, Georgian, and Uzbek companies, alongside representatives from the World Bank.

According to the program of this session, among the speakers are the head of the control department on road transport of the Committee of Road Transport and Transport Control of the Ministry of Transport of Kazakhstan Gani Salmaev, General Director of QINGDAO WINTRANS SHIPPING CO. Wang Ming, General Director of TransExpeditions LLP Marat Nazarov, Permanent Representative in the Permanent Secretariat of IGC TRACECA Sapar Bektassov, General Director of International Commercial Sea Port Baku Hovsan OJSC Rashad Dashdamirov, General Director of LC HEAVYLIFT (Georgia) Irakli Tsankashvili, Chairman of the Board of LDz Logistika LLC Jūlija Vasiļkova (Latvia), and World Bank consultant Elvis Roberts.

Furthermore, the plenary session "Open Dialogue: Key Directions of Development of the Transport Industry of Kazakhstan" will be held within the framework of the conference on October 9, where the key speakers will be the Vice-Minister of Transport of the Republic of Kazakhstan Maksat Kaliakparov, the Head of the Board of the JSC "National Company "Kazakhstan Temir Zholy" Nurlan Sauranbayev, and Chairman of the Presidium of the National Chamber of Commerce "Atameken" Raimbek Batalov.

The session “Harmonized Development of Railway Infrastructure and Transport Hubs” on Wednesday at the conference in Aktau will be addressed by Islam Sultanov, Acting Head of Railway Infrastructure Management of the Committee of Railway and Water Transport of the Ministry of Transport of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Chairman of the Board of NC Aktau International Sea Trade Port JSC Turikpenbaev and other representatives of Kazakhstani companies. The digitalization of ITC and warehouse logistics markets will be discussed at the conference on Thursday. Free discussions with experts are expected on Friday.

To note, the North-South ITC has been developing since 2000 and has several routes originating in the Russian Federation.

“Middle Corridor” celebrated its 10th anniversary this year and transports cargo from Asia to Europe and back, the international project TRACECA has been developing since 1993.
