ASTANA, Kazakhstan, June 5. Kazakhstan has increased the number of direct flights from South Korea to Almaty, Astana, and Shymkent to 17 per week, Trend reports via Kazakh Media.
Kazakhstani tour operators held talks with more than 60 South Korean companies within the framework of B2B meetings in Seoul, organized with the support of the country's embassy in South Korea, in order to expand cooperation.
"In 2024, over 40,000 South Korean citizens visited Kazakhstan. This is a 12.8 percent increase compared to 2023 and matches pre-pandemic levels. At the same time, 26,861 people (+12 percent) used hotel services," the statement said.
The growth was made possible thanks to the visa-free regime, the increase in direct flights, and active promotion of Kazakhstan as a tourist destination.
