DUSHANBE, Tajikistan, April 14. The spring cotton sowing season officially began in the Panj District of Tajikistan’s Khatlon region, Trend reports.
Regional Governor Davlatali Saeed visited several farms and seasonal greenhouses and viewed the growth of cotton and other crops. He also took part in the first day of cotton sowing at the Emomali Rahmon Seed-Growing Cooperative.
The cooperative manages 1,341 hectares of farmland, with 700 hectares allocated for cotton this year. Out of the total area, 1,044 hectares are irrigated. In addition to cotton, the cooperative cultivates 453 hectares of grain, 26 hectares of vegetables, 16 hectares of onions, 13 hectares of potatoes, and 17 hectares of fodder crops.
During his visit, the governor emphasized the importance of efficient land use and offered practical guidance to farmers. He also visited residential plots to observe local agricultural practices and encouraged residents to maximize their land use through multiple harvests.
