TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, October 12. The average rental price for housing in Tashkent reached $9.1 per square meter as of September 2023, Trend reports.
The recorded number is 2.2 percent up from August's $8.9. The highest rental rates, exceeding $11 per square meter, were observed in the Shaikhantakhur, Yakkasarai, and Mirabad districts, while the lowest rates, ranging from $7.4 to $5.8 per square meter, were found in the Uchtepa, Sergeli, and Bektemir districts of the Tashkent region.
Notably, the Sergeli and Almazar districts of the capital experienced the highest rental growth rates, surging by 6.5 percent and 6.4 percent, respectively, with the Bektemir district following closely, showing a 5 percent increase.
In contrast, rental prices in Mirabad, Yunusabad, and Mirzo-Ulugbek districts decreased by 1.6 percent to 3.5 percent during the month, while the rental rate in Shaikhantakhur district remained unchanged.
Furthermore, the analysis by the Center for Economic Research and Reforms (CERR) shows that the average rental price in Tashkent increased by 1.1 percent compared to the previous year.
However, since the beginning of this year, the average rental price in Uzbekistan’s Tashkent has dropped by nearly 11.2 percent.
Overall, the real estate market shrank in September 2023, while the only Uzbek region to have managed to maintain moderate activity was Samarkand.
