Export of products via Iran's Bileh Savar border terminal shows increase

BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 2. The export of non-oil products through the Bileh Savar border terminal of Ardabil Province, located in northwestern Iran, increased by 53 percent during eight months of the current Iranian year (from March 20 through November 20, 2024) compared to the same period last year (March 21 through November 21, 2023), the Director General of the Road and Transportation Department of Iran's Ardabil Province Kalimollah Vosughi told local media, Trend reports.

He reported that during the eight months, 23,476 trucks transported 53,500 tons of non-oil products via the Bileh Savar border terminal. During the same period last year, the export of non-oil products through the Bileh Savar border terminal totaled 341,000 tons.

Vosughi observed that the Bileh Savar border terminal handled the export of fruits and vegetables, salt, various types of glass, construction materials, ceramics, and other products.

The official stated that the Bileh Savar border terminal handled 24,300 tons of product imports over the course of the eight months. The import of products increased by 35 percent compared to the same period last year. The products were transported in 1,178 trucks.

He stressed that during the eight months, the Bileh Savar border terminal handled the transit of 758,000 tons of goods.

Iran's Bileh Savar border terminal is located on the border with Azerbaijan.

Meanwhile, Iran's exports of non-oil products amounted to about 104 million tons, worth about $38.2 billion, during eight months of the current Iranian year (from March 20 through November 2024). Iran's exports of non-oil products increased by 18 percent in value and 14.6 percent in weight compared to the same period of the previous year (from March 21 through November 21, 2023).

To note, Iran's imports of non-oil products amounted to 24.5 million tons worth $45.1 billion during eight months of the current Iranian year (from March 20 through November 20, 2024). During the eight months, Iran's imports of non-oil products increased by 6.9 percent in value and decreased by 1.73 percent in weight compared to last year (from March 21 through November 21, 2023).
