Iran reveals savings from commissioning of Bandar Abbas-Sirjan-Rafsanjan pipeline

BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 11. Iran will save 60 trillion rials (about $124 million) annually by commissioning the first stage of the Bandar-Abbas-Sirjan-Rafsanjan gas pipeline, the executive director of Iran's National Petroleum Engineering and Construction Company Mohammad Meshkinfam told reporters, Trend reports.

According to him, the Bandar Abbas-Sirjan-Rafsanjan first phase of the pipeline can carry 100,000 barrels of oil and oil products per day. The first phase was inaugurated on December 7. With the commissioning of the Bandar Abbas-Sirjan-Rafsanjan pipeline with a total length of 460 km, 300,000 barrels (48 million liters) can be transported daily. This pipeline will be fully functional by the end of the year (March 20, 2025).

Meshkinfam stated that about 450 million euros were spent to lay this pipeline. With the commissioning of the pipeline, the daily movement of 1,600 trucks transporting oil and oil products was stopped.

To note, the pipeline for the transportation of oil products from the Bandar Abbas district of Hormozgan province in southern Iran to the Rafsanjan district of Kerman province is 26 inches long and can carry 300,000 barrels of oil products daily produced by the Gulf Star Oil Company.
