Iran emphasizes oil and non-oil commodity volumes at its western Hormozgan Province ports

BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 31. About 9.56 million tons of oil and non-oil products were loaded and unloaded at the Hormozgan port of Western Province, located in southern Iran, during nine months of the current Iranian year (from March 20 through December 2024), the Director of Hormozgan Province Ports and Maritime Department Morteza Salari told reporters, Trend reports.

As per his analysis, a total of 4.71 million metric tons of hydrocarbon derivatives and 4.84 million metric tons of non-hydrocarbon commodities were transacted through the western maritime terminals of Hormozgan Province over a nine-month operational period.

Salari pointed out that 3.41 million tons were loaded and unloaded in Lavan port, 2.73 million tons in Lengeh port, 1.29 million tons in Siri port, 1.1 million tons in Charak port, 661,000 tons in Parsian port, about 311,000 tons in Aftab port, 22,600 tons in Abu Musa port, and 9,000 tons in Shiu port.

The official stressed that about 1,600 TEU containers with a capacity of 151 million tons were loaded and unloaded in the western ports of the province during the mentioned period.

He added that 4.54 million tons of oil and non-oil products were exported through ports in the western part of the province during the nine-month period. Of them, 2.35 million tons of non-oil and about 2.2 million tons of crude oil and petroleum products.

To note, a total of ten ports are operating in the west of Iran's Hormozgan Province. Among these ports, Lengeh, Charak, Siri, and Lavan ports are the most active.
