BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 27. Iran’s Ascotec Holding has signed a cooperation agreement with China's Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) to provide technical services for sponge iron production using the Pered technology in Kazakhstan, Trend reports.
The agreement was formalized at a ceremony held in Tehran, attended by Deputy Minister of Industry, Mine and Trade of Iran Vajiollah Jafari, Chairman of the Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization (IMIDRO) Mohammad Aghajanlou, and other officials.
Speaking at the event, Amir Ali Taherzadeh, CEO of Ascotec Holding, said the agreement marks the first instance of engineering collaboration based on Pered technology. “This agreement demonstrates a significant achievement in the technological advancement of Iran’s steel industry,” he noted.
Under the agreement, services will be provided for a sponge iron production plant in Kazakhstan with a capacity of 800,000 tons.
A representative of TCS also highlighted the company’s eighteen-year history of successful cooperation with Iranian partners and expressed interest in extending this collaboration to new projects in Kazakhstan and Africa.
