BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 8. Iran's 150 nuclear achievements were presented and put into operation in the last Iranian year (from March 21, 2023 through March 19, 2024), Iran's Vice President and Chairman of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran Mohammad Eslami said, Trend reports.
According to him, 159 achievements of Iran in the nuclear field were presented and put into operation in the previous year (from March 21, 2022 through March 20, 2023).
Eslami added that several effective steps were taken in the nuclear field last year. Thus, activities in the field of radiation increased 2.5 times compared to the previous year.
"Radiation is very important in healthcare. Iran has started producing 15 new radioisotopes in this field. These radioisotopes are of great help to those suffering from cancer. The radioisotopes are currently being tested on cancerous tumors. Also, wound healing clinics have been established in three hospitals in Tehran. The Atomic Energy Organization of Iran said it is ready to increase the number of such clinics to 50. These wounds are mostly related to diabetes," he said.
The official stated that plasma is also planned to be used for the filtration of industrial wastewater. Plasma will be widely used in this area this year.
He noted that Iran had planned to use radiation systems in 12 locations. These systems will be launched soon. 30 million tons of annual waste in agriculture will be prevented by using radiation systems. These systems are scheduled to be put into operation in the second month (April 20, 2024).
To note, Iran uses its nuclear program in agriculture, health, electricity, and other fields, and to this end, it has taken steps to discover uranium, mine uranium stone, produce yellowcake, and so on.
