BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 12. Türkiye's Aliaga port received 5,567 vessels from January through November 2024.
Data obtained by Trend from the country's Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure shows that Turkish ports received 445 Turkish-flagged vessels and 4,122 vessels under the flags of other countries.
The cargo turnover of Turkish ports in November 2024 amounted to 32.47 million tons.
During the reporting period, the cargo turnover to domestic ports by Turkish-flagged vessels amounted to 2.43 million tons.
"The cargo turnover of vessels under the flags of other countries in the ports of Türkiye amounted to 30.3 million tons," the ministry said in a statement.
Meanwhile, the transit cargo turnover in the ports of Türkiye amounted to 5.95 million tons during the reporting period.
The data from the ministry also indicates that the ports of Türkiye received 363.8 million tons of cargo from January through November 2024.
"The cargo reception by Turkish-flagged vessels amounted to 27.4 million tons, while vessels flying flags from other countries shipped a total of 336.3 million tons of cargo to the ports of Türkiye," the ministry said.
The report added that the ports of Türkiye transported a total of 63.5 million tons of transit cargo from January through September 2024.
Additionally, this November, the ports of Türkiye totally received 4,373 vessels, of which 2,966 were under foreign flags and 1,407 were under Turkish.
The total volume of ships received from January through November 2024 amounted to 56,086 vessels,
"The vessel reception by Turkish ports under the flags of other countries amounted to 36,550, while the Turkish-flagged vessels totaled 19,536," the ministry said in a statement.
