BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 26. The Azerbaijani Cabinet of Ministers has opened a special session focused on the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev’s historic visit to Washington, Trend reports.
In his opening speech, Prime Minister Ali Asadov noted that the triumphant visit of the President of Azerbaijan to Washington, which is the focus of worldwide attention, not only further strengthens the authority and position of our country in the international political arena but also opens up new prospects for ensuring long-term peace in the region.
Moreover, it was emphasized that the victory on August 8, inscribed in gold letters in the history of Azerbaijani diplomacy, is a natural result of the strong leadership, determination, and principled stance of President Ilham Aliyev.
Speaking about the importance of the meetings held and the documents signed in Washington, the Prime Minister noted that the visit is significant in that, on the one hand, Azerbaijani-American relations have entered a qualitatively new stage, and on the other hand, important steps have been taken towards ensuring long-term peace between Azerbaijan and Armenia.
The importance of the agreement reached on the Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity (TRIPP) was emphasized. It was noted that, in addition to ensuring unhindered communication between the main part of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, the project will give impetus to the development of transport links and the expansion of trade and economic cooperation in the region. In this regard, the need for the government to work daily to implement the relevant tasks was noted.
Deputy Prime Minister Shahin Mustafayev, Minister of Foreign Affairs Jeyhun Bayramov, Minister of Economy Mikayil Jabbarov, and Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic Fuad Najafli addressed the meeting.
The meeting identified the tasks facing the government following the visit of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan to Washington.
