BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 6. A large number of weapons and ammunition were found and seized in the city of Khankendi during the week (from June 29 through July 5), the statement of Azerbaijan's Interior Ministry said, Trend reports.

Meanwhile, it was noted that from June 29 through July 5, police officers found and seized 78 automatic rifles, 4 pistols, 6 rifles, 22 grenades, one machine gun, 2 mines, 32 fuses, 58 shells, 116 bayonet knives, 1,532 ammunition magazines, 6,101 cartridges of different calibers, 10 kilograms of gunpowder and other ammunition, as well as 16 binoculars, 29-night vision devices, and 81 communication devices in the territory of Khankendi city.

"The process of locating and neutralizing the remaining sources of danger left over from the war continues uninterruptedly. The work on clearing the region of ammunition and explosives is one of the main activities of the internal affairs officers involved in the service," the statement said.
