Azerbaijan exported a record volume of persimmons worth $125.9 million in 2021, Gadir Yusifov, chairman of the Azerbaijani Association of Persimmon Producers and Exporters, told Trend.
Yusifov added that such a high volume was recorded for the first time.
“The export volume of persimmons amounted to $91.4 million in Azerbaijan in 2020, which is by 37.6 percent or $34.4 million less compared to 2021,” chairman said. “The maximum export volume of persimmons reached $115 million in 2018, which is by 10.9 percent or $10 million less compared to 2021.”
The chairman added that such results were achieved in 2021 thanks to the training on compliance with agrotechnical rules conducted by the Association for farmers.
“A record volume of 174,000 tons was exported in 2021,” Yusifov said.
The Azerbaijani Association of Persimmon Producers and Exporters was established four years ago.
