BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 25. A total of 25.5 million tons of crude oil were transported through the ports of Türkiye from January through September 2024.
The data obtained by Trend from the country's Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure shows that 2.34 million tons of cargo were transported by Turkish-flagged vessels, while 22.8 million tons were transported by vessels under the flags of other states.
In September 2024, almost 20 million tons of crude oil were transported by transit from the ports of Türkiye.
The cargo turnover of Turkish ports in September 2024 amounted to 30.88 million tons. During this period, the cargo turnover to domestic ports by Turkish-flagged vessels amounted to 2.71 million tons, and the cargo turnover of vessels under the flags of other countries in the ports of Türkiye amounted to 28.17 million tons.
Meanwhile, the transit cargo turnover in the ports of Türkiye amounted to 5.29 million tons.
The data from the ministry also indicates that the ports of Türkiye received 298.69 million tons of cargo in the first nine months of 2024.
The cargo reception by Turkish-flagged vessels amounted to 22.62 million tons. Meanwhile, vessels flying flags from other countries shipped a total of 276.07 million tons of cargo to the ports of Türkiye.
From January through September 2024, the ports of Türkiye transported a total of 51.83 million tons of transit cargo.
Additionally, this September, the ports of Türkiye totally received 5,466 vessels, of which 2,174 were under foreign flags and 3,292 were under Turkish. The total volume of ships received from January through September 2024 amounted to 46,314 vessels, of which 30,131 were under the Turkish flag and 16,183 were under the flags of other countries.
