BAKU, Azerbaijan, January 16. Agrarian insurance payments were made to farmers for orchards, grain fields, and livestock in Azerbaijan's Aghjabadi, Samukh, and Goranboy districts, a source in the Agrarian Insurance Fund told Trend.

According to the source, the nationwide number of farmers and farms using the mechanism of state agricultural insurance continues to grow, and the insurance payments continue to be made to farms affected by various incidents.

Farmer Habib Huseynov, whose plum orchard was damaged by hail in the Aghjabadi district, received an insurance payout of 17,870 manat ($10,510).

Another farmer, Sadig Abdullayev, was compensated with 13,791 manat ($8,110) for the damage caused by flooding of his barley field in the Goranboy district's Rahibli village.

Besides, a payout of 17,012 manat ($10,010) was made for the damage caused by a storm to the plum orchard of farmer Nadir Hasanov in the same district.

Farmer Ilkin Mirzayev received an insurance payment of 3,600 manat ($2,120) for the perish of his livestock due to an infectious disease in the Samukh district.

As part of the insurance payout activities, the Agricultural Insurance Fund held a meeting with farmers in the Rahimli village of Goranboy district.

Representatives of the Fund provided detailed information to local residents about agricultural insurance, its benefits, conditions, coverage, and guaranteed risks.

Farmers who wish to insure their livestock and crops can contact local branches of the Agricultural Insurance Fund or call the call center at 1651. They can also find information on insurance rates on the Agricultural Insurance Fund's website (www.asf.gov.az) and make calculations using insurance calculators.
