BAKU, Azerbaijan, February 20. Azerbaijan generated a total output of 130,600 metric tons of construction-grade sand in January 2025.
The data obtained by Trend from the State Statistics Committee indicates that this figure represents a rise of 79,500 tons or 2.5 times more than the previous year’s corresponding period.
Meanwhile, the country’s stock of finished products amounted to 10,900 tons as of February 1.
To note, the total cost of production in Azerbaijan's mining industry stood at 3.3 billion manat ($1.9 billion) in January 2025, decreasing by five percent compared to the same month of the previous year.
The output of marketable oil, which is the main product of the industry, was 2.3 million tons, and the output of marketable natural gas was 3.1 bcm.
Marketable oil production decreased by 6.6 percent compared to the same month of the previous year, and marketable gas production went down by 4.8 percent.
