BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 14. Azerenerji OJSC produced 4.35 billion kilowatt-hours (kWh) of electricity from January through February 2025.
Data obtained by Trend from the country's Ministry of Energy shows that this indicator rose 167 million kWh, or four percent more than in the same period last year when the company's electricity production reached 4.18 billion kWh.
During the first two months of 2025, Azerenerji produced 3.95 billion kWh of electricity at thermal power plants (TPPs) and 398 million kWh of electricity at hydroelectric power plants (HPP).
These are also 27 million kWh (0.7 percent) and 140 million kWh (54.3 percent) more than in the same period of 2024, respectively, when Azerenerji produced 3.92 billion kWh of electricity at thermal power plants and 258 million kWh of electricity at hydropower plants.
To note, during the review period, the production of electricity by the State Energy Service of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic amounted to 61.3 million kWh (41.4 million kWh in thermal power plants, 12.3 million kWh in solar power plants, 7.6 million kWh in hydroelectric power plants), 4.1 million kWh in wind power plants by Azerishig OJSC, and 445.8 million kWh in independent power plants.
