ASTANA, Kazakhstan, April 30. The flow of visitors to Kazakhstan from five Arab countries (Oman, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Bahrain) increased by 62 percent in 2024, Trend reports via the Ministry of Tourism and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
“Tourist arrivals from Oman increased by 80 percent, exceeding 15,000 people. From the UAE, 14,700 people arrived (a 40 percent increase compared to the previous year), and from Saudi Arabia, more than 9,000 tourists (47 percent growth). The number of visitors from Qatar grew by 1.5 times, and from Bahrain — by almost 4 times, compared to 2022,” the information notes.
The ministry added that Kazakhstan is actively expanding its presence in the Middle Eastern tourism market. From April 28 to May 1, the international exhibition Arabian Travel Market is being held in Dubai, where around 30 representatives of Kazakhstan’s tourism industry are showcasing the country.
“At the Kazakhstan booth, which covers an area of 73.5 square meters, special attention is given to the tourism potential of Almaty, Astana, and Baikonur. Visitors and tourism professionals are being presented with a variety of tourism products — from cultural and gastronomic tours to scientific and educational trips,” the ministry added.
TravelScapes described Kazakhstan as a trendy destination for travelers from the Middle East in 2023. This year, Kazakhstan is again among the popular destinations for Arab tourists during the Eid al-Fitr holiday.
The Arabian Travel Market is one of the most significant global events in the tourism industry. This 32nd edition of the exhibition is dedicated to the theme “Global Travel: Shaping the Future of Tourism Through Innovation and Connectivity.” Over 2,800 companies from around the world are showcasing their travel offerings. The event is expected to attract 55,000 visitors from 161 countries.
