BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 21. The volume of trade operations between Azerbaijan and the US reached $461 million from January through April 2025.
Data obtained by Trend from the State Customs Committee indicates that this figure is $249.9 million, or 2.2 times higher compared to the same period of 2024.
Meanwhile, trade with the US accounted for 2.72 percent of Azerbaijan’s total trade turnover during the reporting period, placing the US 7th among Azerbaijan’s top trading partners.
Meanwhile, Azerbaijan's exports to the US totaled $24 million, marking an increase of $7.2 million or 43 percent compared to the previous year.
At the same time, imports from the US to Azerbaijan reached $437 million, which is $242.7 million or 2.2 times the volume from last year. This made the US the 4th-largest source of imports for Azerbaijan.
Additionally, non-oil exports to the US amounted to $24 million, a rise of $7.3 million or 44.1 percent compared to the same period in 2024.
Non-oil exports to the US accounted for 2.25 percent of Azerbaijan’s total exports, ranking the US 8th among buyers of Azerbaijan’s non-oil products.
Overall, Azerbaijan’s foreign trade turnover in the first four months of 2025 totaled $16.9 billion, an increase of $3.3 billion or 24.1 percent compared to the same period last year.
Exports amounted to $8.7 billion, while imports reached $8.1 billion, marking respective increases of $616.1 million (7.5 percent) and $2.7 billion (48.8 percent) year on year.
Consequently, Azerbaijan recorded a positive trade balance of nearly $651.7 million, which is $2.1 billion or 4.15 times less than the surplus registered in the same period last year.
