Speaking at the opening ceremony, Chairman of the Board of Samruk-Kazyna JSC Nurlan Zhakupov noted that I express my gratitude to everyone involved in the project.
He stressed that developing the country’s transit and transport potential is one of our strategic goals.
''In this direction, Samruk-Kazyna JSC, together with Kazakhstan Railways (KTZ), is actively working both domestically and abroad. Over the past 10 years of partnership between Kazakhstan Railways and the port of Lianyungang, we have launched the Kazakhstan-China terminal in Lianyungang, the Khorgos Gateway Dry Port, and now the container hub in Aktau. This project is a significant step in advancing transportation and logistics in Kazakhstan,” he added..
The new hub will enhance transit capacity and strengthen Kazakhstan’s position as a key link along international East-West and North-South transport routes, among others. Its modern logistics infrastructure, which includes cutting-edge technologies not previously used in Kazakhstan, will significantly speed up container cargo handling.
Moreover, the hub's launch was marked by the arrival of the 100,000th container from China via the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (Middle Corridor).
The project was implemented by KTZ Express JSC in cooperation with one of China’s largest ports, Lianyungang, and the Aktau International Sea Commercial Port JSC.
The general contractor for the project was a consortium led by China Communications Construction Company (CCCC), one of China’s largest state-owned corporations specializing in transport infrastructure development. With its extensive experience in port construction and a comprehensive approach to project management, the facility was completed in record time.
