DUSHANBE, Tajikistan, July 2. The International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) is finalizing the implementation of the “Market Access and Adaptation for Livestock” project in Tajikistan this year, Trend reports via the Ministry of Agriculture.
This was confirmed during a meeting on June 30 between Tajikistan’s Minister of Agriculture Kurbon Hakimzoda and IFAD Vice President Gerardine Mukeshimana, held within the framework of the 44th FAO Conference.
The parties reviewed the sustainability and impact of IFAD’s completed projects in pilot areas, highlighting their contribution to improving local residents' livelihoods. Discussions also covered the draft “Country Strategic Program of IFAD for Tajikistan 2026-2030” and plans for a new project to enhance market access and livestock adaptation.
Additional topics included the development of fish farming in Tajikistan, increasing fish meat availability for the population, boosting the export potential of the aquaculture sector, and financing upcoming initiatives in fish farming.
