BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 3. Banks operating in Azerbaijan conducted currency exchange operations totaling $309.27 million in May of the current year.
The data obtained by Trend from the State Statistics Committee shows that this figure increased by $998,000, or 0.3 percent, compared to the same period last year ($310.27 million).
Throughout the designated reporting interval, the aggregate
volume of dollar acquisitions executed by banking institutions
reached $186.13 million, whereas the corresponding sales figures
culminated at $123.14 million.
Dollar acquisitions surged by $29.95 million, reflecting a
year-on-year escalation of 19.2 percent, whereas dollar disposals
contracted by $30.95 million, indicating a decline of 20.1
percent.
During the corresponding timeframe of 2024, financial institutions
executed transactions amounting to $156.182 million in acquisitions
and $154.09 million in divestitures.
