ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, August 23. Entrepreneurs from the United Arab Emirates signed a contract with the Ministry of Health and Medical Industry of Turkmenistan on the foreign market for the purchase of dry licorice root extract, Trend reports, citing the State Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange of Turkmenistan (SCRMET).
On the domestic market, two contracts were signed: one with the Ministry of Health and Medical Industry for the purchase of thick licorice root extract, and another with the Ministry of Textile Industry for the purchase of basement fluff.
As a result of the trading session, a total of three deals were concluded, valued at $33,428.57 and $78,000.
Licorice root is one of Turkmenistan’s notable agricultural exports, widely used in the pharmaceutical, food, and cosmetics industries due to its medicinal properties and high demand in global markets.
The SCRMET serves as Turkmenistan’s main platform for foreign trade in commodities, offering regular auctions for petroleum products, textiles, agricultural goods, and chemical products. It plays a key role in facilitating transparent and competitive trading procedures for both domestic producers and international customers.
