TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, October 15. Over the past six years, Uzbekistan has commissioned 12 solar photovoltaic plants with a total capacity of 3,030 MW, Trend reports via the Ministry of Energy of Uzbekistan.
Since the beginning of this year, these plants have generated 5.3 billion kWh of electricity - enough to meet the annual electricity needs of more than 2 million households.
These “green” plants are highly efficient: robotic systems clean the panels from dust, and the panels themselves are equipped with tracking mechanisms that follow the sun throughout the day. They face east at sunrise, track the sun’s movement, and continue following it until sunset, maximizing the capture of solar energy.
The initiative reflects Uzbekistan’s commitment to harnessing the full potential of renewable energy and advancing its clean-energy transition.
