The volume of natural gas received from developed oil and gas fields of the Turkmenoil State Concern amounted to about 4.4 billion cubic meters in January-August this year, the Turkmen Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources said Sept. 18.
"This figure significantly increased compared to the results of the same period of last year," the statement says. "The production growth was 110.9 percent. During this period, growth in the "blue fuel" supplies to the foreign markets amounted to 148.5 percent."
Besides the main oil production infrastructure, there are gas facilities in the state concern.
There are a number of large deposits and promising areas in the south-west of Turkmenistan located within the area of the state concern. They serve as the raw material base of the Turkmenistan - Iran (Korpeje-Kurt-Kui) interstate gas pipeline.
