Brightman company, an Azerbaijani producer of canned fruits and vegetables, has increased domestic sales of its products by 10 percent since the early 2020 compared to last year, Director of the company Afet Ahmadova told Trend.
According to the director, the sales grow annually from March to May.
“These months are considered to be “gray”. Fresh fruits and vegetables are absent on the markets, which is why canned fruits and vegetables sell well during this period,” she said.
Ahmadova noted that the current shipments slowed down due to logistics, but the main reason was the depreciation of the partner countries’ national currencies. For example, in Russia, the US dollar topped 80 rubles, while the company's export shipments were in the ratio of $1 to 65 rubles.
"The last export shipment was in February 2020. We received orders for 24,000 cans, and exported only 5,000," she said.
As the director noted, the company has completed work on the development of an online store, which will soon be launched.
“We manufacture 22 types of products, and our current task is to increase sales of all types of products. We export 15 types of products to Russia, 19 types of products to Ukraine, and also plan to increase this number in 2020,” Ahmadova said.
Brightman company was founded in 2013. Its first product appeared on the domestic market in August 2015, and the first export was made in June 2017.
Brightman’s products are successfully sold outside the country under the Made in Azerbaijan brand.
In October 2016, President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev signed a decree On the Large-Scale Promotion of Local Non-Oil Products in Foreign Markets under the Made in Azerbaijan brand.
This decree covers ten different support mechanisms to stimulate export and promote the Made in Azerbaijan brand abroad.
Depending on the type of mechanism, the costs of their implementation, in whole or in part, are paid by the state budget.
