The iodine plant at Chalja site in Bereket district of Turkmenistan’s Balkan region produced 127 tons of technical iodine in 1H2020, Trend reports with reference to Business Turkmenistan information portal.
The volume of produced iodine at the plant exceeds the volume of manufactured technical iodine throughout the Balkan region in 1H2020.
The manufactured products are exported to the United Arab Emirates, Russia, India and Austria.
The plant belongs to country’s Himiya Senagat company and is designed to manufacture 150 tons of technical iodine per year.
This plant, which was put into operation last year, has installed new foreign equipment.
Turkmen technical iodine is an important chemical product in the manufacture of non-ferrous metals, synthetic rubber, paints, lacquers, combined feed, medical preparations and the purest metal.
As it was reported earlier, in Turkmenistan over the next seven years, the production of technical iodine will increase by 2.3 times, and in 2024, the volume of exports of this product will exceed 1,000 tons.
