This week the Ministry of Agriculture of Azerbaijan began the process of improving electronic resources providing information and consulting services to farmers, Trend reports with reference to the ministry.
The provision of information and consulting services to farmers is one of the main directions for ensuring the development of agriculture.
"The structural units of the Ministry of Agriculture conduct trainings in various areas of the agricultural sector. Farmers participating in the trainings are offered a variety of directions for organizing agricultural activities, innovations in agricultural legislation and other services," said the ministry.
In addition, director of the production and operations department of the Azerbaijan Industrial Corporation Ilham Bayramov said this week that it is planned to increase tobacco production up to 30 percent by improving agro-technical measures in 2021.
He said that this year the increase in production was achieved by increasing the acreage, however, next year it is planned to achieve results by improving agro-technical measures.
"The main investor in the tobacco growing industry is the state. Annually, Azerbaijan Industrial Corporation JSC and Azertutun APK LLC grow and purchase raw tobacco for processing into finished products. NBCO Agrocredit is constantly financing farmers, as a result of which it is fully provided with the necessary technical The Ministry of Agriculture of Azerbaijan annually allocates subsidies to farmers using an electronic platform," Bayramov said, commenting on the issue of investment in agriculture.
