ASTANA, Kazakhstan, July 7. During a working visit to Brazil, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan Murat Nurtleu held a series of bilateral meetings with the leadership of Brazil's major economic associations and industrial corporations, including Embraer, Tramontina, Vale, Marcopolo, and Amazul, Trend reports.
In a discussion with Newton de Almeida Costa Neto, President of the Brazilian defense-industrial company Amazul, the key topic was the potential for establishing direct contacts with Kazakhstan's National Atomic Company Kazatomprom. The meeting concluded with an agreement to further develop cooperation in the field of peaceful nuclear energy.
With Mauro Gilberto Bellini, Vice President of Marcopolo, opportunities for cooperation in the localization of passenger transport production were discussed, including a project to assemble buses in Kazakhstan.
Moreover, during the meetings, the Foreign Minister highlighted the attractiveness of Kazakhstan’s jurisdiction for foreign investors, emphasizing the government’s readiness to support Brazilian enterprises entering the Kazakh market. He noted that Kazakhstan’s favorable logistics, participation in international transport corridors, and proactive trade policy offer unique opportunities for expanding export chains involving Brazilian companies.
During the convening, Murat Nurtleu urged stakeholders from
Latin America to engage more proactively within the
Kazakhstan-Brazil Business Council, leveraging the platform to
enhance economic synergies and execute collaborative
initiatives.
During the visit, a strategic roundtable entitled
“Brazil–Kazakhstan: Prospects for Cooperation” convened, featuring
key stakeholders from Brazil’s premier industry associations and
corporate entities. The symposium elucidated pivotal sectors of
capital infusion and trade-economic synergies, featured expositions
on prospects within the Kazakh marketplace, and culminated in the
endorsement of several bilateral accords.
In the year 2024, the bilateral trade dynamics between Kazakhstan
and Brazil surpassed the $257 million threshold, and during the
inaugural quarter of 2025, the trade volume experienced a
remarkable surge of 88 percent, culminating in a total of $104.2
million.
