All possibilities are out there to complete the construction of the Brody-Plock project (Adamova Zastava) by the end of 2015, CEO of International Pipeline Company (ICC) Sarmatia, Sergei Skripka told Trend.
Sarmatia ICC was created on July 12, 2004 by Ukrtransnafta and the Polish company PERN Przyjazn to attract investment to design and completion of Odessa-Brody oil pipeline to Plock.
The Odessa-Brody oil project sought to diversify supplies to Ukrainian refineries and transit development capabilities. Construction of the Odessa-Brody pipeline was completed in May 2002. It has a length of 674 kilometres and diameter of 1020 mm. The pipeline and the terminal are geared towards 14 million tons per year.
According to Skripka, a pipeline means of transportation and delivery of Azerbaijani oil to Poland and other European countries is possible by 2016.
"We are still confident that even now it is possible to complete the project prior to the end of 2015," Skripka said.
Research on the route to be selected for the pipeline has been completed. The length of the route will be 377 kilometres, 120 kilometres of which will be built in Ukraine and 257 kilometres in Poland.
The Brody-Plock oil pipeline construction project is included as a priority in the EU operational programme 'Infrastructure and Environment'. This programme has funds amounting to 495 million zloty for implementation of the aforementioned project (about $177 million).
