Iran's exports of oil and oil products via Shahid Rajaee Port in Hormozgan province increased by 30 percent in the first nine months (from March 21 to Dec. 21, 2019) of the current Iranian year, compared to the same period of the previous year, Head of Hormozgan Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO) and Shahid Rajaee Special Economic Zone Allahmorad Afifipour said, Trend reports with reference to theorganiztion.
In the reported nine-month period, over 7.1 million tons of oil and oil products were exported from the port, Afifipour said.
During this period, the cabotage volume of oil products (cargo transportation by ships between the seaports of one country) reached 12.8 million tons, while transit volume of oil products amounted to 66,000 tons, Afifipour noted, adding that these figures indicate 5 percent and 83.5 percent increase, respectively, compared to the same period of the previous year.
The head of Hormozgan PMO noted that 25.9 million tons of non-oil products were exported via Shahid Rajaee Port in the nine-month period.
Over two million tons of non-oil goods were shipped from the port in transit during the nine-month period, Afifipour said, adding that 5.3 million tons of goods were received at the port during the same period.
During the reported period, 3,190 vessels moored at the Shahid Rajaee Port, which is 14.3 percent more compared to the same period of the previous year, Afifipour said.
According to him, 2,538 vessels had the tonnage of over 1,000 tons (8 percent more than in the same period of previous year), while the tonnage of 652 vessels was under 1,000 tons (43 percent increase).
