The first auction for the new Interconnection Point with the Trans Adriatic Pipeline (TAP) named “Nea Mesimvria” was held in PRISMA platform on November 2nd, 2020 for the quarterly products (Q2, Q3, Q4) of Gas Year 2020/2021, DESFA, Greece’s National Natural Gas System told Trend.
“Also, on Monday, November 9th, 2020, Conditional (bFZK) Delivery Capacity was offered, related again to the Q2, Q3, Q4 of the GasYear 2020/2021 .
Capacity products via auctions will be offered, according to provisions of 2017/459 CAM Network Code and according to the ENTSOG calendar (Auction Calendar 2020/2021 for Capacity Allocation Mechanism Network Code)
According to provisions of 2017/459 CAM Network Code, the capacity allocation mechanisms (CAM) in gas transmission systems set out how adjacent transmission system operators cooperate, in order to facilitate capacity sales, having regard to general commercial, as well as technical rules. For further information please refer to 2017/459 CAM NC,” said DESFA.
TAP project, worth 4.5 billion euros, is one of the priority energy projects for the European Union (EU). The project envisages transportation of gas from Azerbaijan's Shah Deniz Stage 2 to the EU countries.
TAP will offer a direct and cost-effective transportation route opening up the vital Southern Gas Corridor, a 3,500-kilometer long gas value chain stretching from the Caspian Sea to Europe.
TAP shareholders include BP (20 percent), SOCAR (20 percent), Snam S.p.A. (20 percent), Fluxys (19 percent), Enagás (16 percent) and Axpo (5 percent).
