The extraction has been launched from well E1P6 in the Esfand oil field under the Iranian Offshore Oil Company (IOOC), the Executive Director of Drilling Company International (DCI) Hamid Reza Seghafi said, Trend reports citing PetroIran Development Company’s official portal.
The director noted that daily 2,000 barrels of crude oil are extracted from this well after the test operation.
Seghafi added that well E1P6 will be more durable and useful than well E1P5 due to the use of better technology and a depth of 942 meters. Because the depth of well E1P5 is 467 meters.
As reported, the Sivand oil field of the Iranian Offshore Oil Company is located 43 km west of Siri Island.
A contract has been signed between the Iranian Offshore Oil Company and the Iranian PetroIran Company on the plan to maintain and increase the extraction from the Sivand and Esfand oil fields. It is expected that 12 wells will be drilled, repaired, and upgraded in the Sivand and Esfand fields under the contract.
The IOOC extracts daily about 11,000 barrels of oil from the Sivand oil field and 60,000 barrels from the Esfand oil field.
