BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 21. Iran’s Gachsaran Oil and Gas Production Company (GOGPC) plans to boost its crude oil output by 10,000 barrels per day in the near future, said Gholam Reza Kamali, the CEO of the company, Trend reports.

The CEO noted that the company operates seven desalination units that can process crude oil before sending it to refineries. One of these units, Bibi Hakimeh, was launched in 2018 and has a capacity of 55,000 barrels per day. However, it was shut down due to the sanctions imposed on Iran in 2018 and the reduced demand for oil in 2020. The company began to repair the unit in the fifth month of this year (July 23 through August 22, 2023).

Kamali said that they have fixed 16 components of the unit and done the necessary work to increase production in the winter season. They will also finish some maintenance work (such as repairing spheres) in the summer to make the unit fully functional.

Iran's Gachsaran Oil & Gas Production Company (GOGPC) is operating under the National Iranian South Oil Company (NISOC). The company is engaged in the field of oil production, refining, and transportation, as well as natural gas and gas condensate production. There are 12 oil and gas fields on the territory of this company.

The company extracts hydrocarbons from 16 oil and gas fields and has 857 oil and gas wells on its land. The oil and gas from the wells are transported by pipelines that span 7,500 km in total.

The company has the capacity to produce 652,000 barrels of crude oil per day and produces 561,000 barrels of crude oil daily.

At present, 950 million cubic feet (about 26.9 million cubic meters) of gas are produced from the company's fields. Of the mentioned volume, 800 million cubic feet (about 22.6 million cubic meters) are supplied to the plant of Bid-Boland Gas Refining Company, while 150 million cubic feet (about 4.24 million cubic meters) of gas are pumped into oil wells.
