BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 14. About21.6 million tons of oil (including gas condensate) were produced in Azerbaijan from January through September 2024, with the Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli (ACG) block of fields generating more than half of that volume.

The data obtained by Trend from the country's Ministry of Energy indicate that 12.5 million tons of oil were produced at ACG (1 million tons less than from January through September 2023), while SOCAR's oil production independently, outside international contracts (including gas condensate), amounted to 5.6 million tons (0.2 million tons less than in the first 9 months of 2023).

The Shah Deniz Caspian field produced 3.1 million tons of condensate from January through September 2024 (accounted for in oil statistics), 0.2 million tons less than in first nine months of 2023.

Absheron field produced 0.4 million tons of condensate. This field has been under development since July 2023 and statistics for Absheron have been available since July 2023. About 140,000 tons of condensate were produced from this field from July through September 2023.

The Ministry of Energy announced that 17.9 million tons of oil produced in 9 months of 2024, together with condensate, were exported. Of these, 15.6 million tons is the consortium's share, and 2.3 million tons is SOCAR's share.

To note, Azerbaijan produced about 30 million tons of oil together with condensate in 2023.
