BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, July 1. On July 3, the Kyrgyz Stock Exchange will host an auction for the placement of 12-month government treasury bills, Trend reports.
According to information from the stock exchange's website, through the sale of the treasury bills, the Ministry of Finance of Kyrgyzstan aims to raise 300 million soms (approx. $3.3 million) for the state budget.
The previous auction for the placement of treasury bills took
place on June 5 of this year. At that time, the Ministry of Finance
raised 210.18 million soms (approx. $2.31 million).
Moreover, the initially announced volume of the treasury bill issue
was 200 million soms (approx. $2.2 million). However, investor
demand exceeded the supply by 5.1 percent, or 10.18 million soms
(approx. $112,000). As a result, the Ministry of Finance decided to
fully satisfy the demand.
The yield on the bills from the last auction was 10.65 percent. As of June 30, the total amount of government obligations on treasury bills was estimated at 2.1684 billion soms (approx. $23.85 million).
