BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 13. The volume of cargo loaded and unloaded at Iran’s Shahid Rajaee port in the Hormozgan Province (southern Iran), decreased by 9.26 percent for the 2nd month of the current Iranian year (April 21 through May 21, 2023), compared to the same month in the last year, Trend reports.
Overall, 5.74 million tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded at the Shahid Rajaee port in the 2nd month. Of this, 3.74 million tons were loaded and 2 million tons were unloaded.
Also, 3.44 million tons of cargo were exported, and 637,000 tons were imported through the Shahid Rajaee port over the 2nd month.
More than 84,800 tons of cargo were loaded and about 188,000 tons were unloaded at the port for transit during the reporting month.
Furthermore, approximately 225,000 tons of cargo were loaded and approximately 1.13 million tons were unloaded at the port for cabotage during the 2nd month.
Within the 2nd month, 32,000 tons of cargo were loaded and 35,400 tons were unloaded in this port for transshipment.
At the same time, 1,700 tons of cargo were loaded, and 12,300 tons were unloaded in the port for other purposes.
Nearly 155,000 tons of essential products, 953,000 tons of metal products, 1.55 million tons of construction and mining materials, and 5,240 tons of equipment, vehicles, and spare parts were loaded and unloaded at the Shahid Rajaee port in the 2nd month of the current Iranian year.
Moreover, 140,000 tons of chemicals, 4,530 tons of leather goods, clothing, fibers, paper, and wood materials, 7,310 tons of small and assorted products, about 868,000 tons of container products, and approximately 2.05 million tons of crude oil and oil products were loaded and unloaded in this port within the mentioned month.
In total, 11.7 million tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports in the 2nd month of the current Iranian year. Of this, 7.01 million tons were loaded and 4.66 million tons were unloaded. This is a decrease of 3.4 percent compared to the same month in the last Iranian year.
